BM was born on a fine summer night, with passionate foodie people, two loaves, five fishes and a chilled Sancerre. If Perkee had been created at the time, no doubt the meal would have commenced with a Perkee espresso martini!
BM’s vision was to run a catering company that respects and values its clients, and keeps its team and ‘Fundamentally Food’ principles at its heart.
BM’s culture is based on the personalities of the founders, Wendy Bartlett and Ian Mitchell. They are entrepreneurial foodies, with the energy, creativity and initiative you expect from natural entrepreneurs. Together, they’ve created a company of like-minded people, who enjoy building strong, long-term relationships with clients.

Sustainability and ethics underpin everything they do – from sourcing responsibly and reducing waste to supporting communities. They’ve been awarded the Planet Mark accreditation for measuring and reducing their carbon emissions. And have been awarded the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s ‘Sustainable Caterer of the Year’ Award three years in succession. Their team has voted them a ‘Best Company’ to work for, and they have achieved the highest Glassdoor rating of any foodservice operator.
